Popular among both holidaymakers and residents are the colourful weekend markets. Each weekend, in towns and villages across the region, artists, craftspeople, woodworkers, blacksmiths and potters... horticulturists, fruit and vegetable vendors, pizza makers, cookie bakers, hot doggers and piemen... buskers, clowns and palm readers, soothsayers, psychics and astrologers... second-hand dealers, jewellers, tinkers, and tailors (whew!) all vie for the attention of locals and visitors.
Each market is a mini carnival and they are an absolute, don’t-miss-it, must for visitors.
