Activities

From the broad waters of the Tweed to the scores of islands and the vast expanses of the Clarence, the Northern Rivers offers more activities than you could cram into a lifetime – let alone a holiday!

There are river cruises deep into the hinterland, rainforest walks among ancient giants, 4wd tours and trails, mountain bike expeditions, surf safaris and more.

You can soar over this spectacular countryside in everything from a hot air balloon to a paraglider, dive among the colourful monsters of the deep in a marine park... or catch a few monsters of your own from one of a thousand boats, jetties, beaches or river banks.

You can get amongst it with beach and bushland horse rides, motocross parks, kayak adventures and surf schools, or just sit back and watch it all go by from a comfy beachside cafe.

If your idea of fun involves more brain than braun, you can immerse yourself in a colourful history that spans more than 40,000 years - from the dreamtime to the arrival of the first woodcutters, farmers, surfers, hippies, new-agers and sea-changers.

The towns, village, hamlets, rolling green hills and wide coastal plains of the Northern Rivers are punctuated with galleries, museums, antique shops and cafés filled with all manner of art, craft, curio and culinary delight.

Th only limits are your imagination and, perhaps, your stamina!
